Role & responsibilities:-

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lift and Escalator Technician to join our team in Fiji, specializing in the installation, servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lift and escalator systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all vertical transportation equipment is installed and maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation:

  • Install lifts and escalators according to manufacturer specifications, engineering drawings, and project timelines.
  • Ensure proper alignment, wiring, and mechanical setup during installation.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning checks and assist with final handovers.

Servicing & Maintenance:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on lifts and escalators.
  • Inspect systems for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Maintain detailed service records, including parts used and work completed.

Troubleshooting & Repairs:

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to identify faults.
  • Replace or repair faulty components to restore functionality and safety.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with local safety regulations, codes of practice, and company standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.

Customer Interaction:

  • Communicate effectively with clients and building representatives regarding the status of work.
  • Provide guidance on system usage and report potential upgrades or risks to clients.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in lift and escalator installation, servicing, and maintenance.
  • Trade certification or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols related to vertical transportation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering diagrams.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or after-hours, if required.
