Role Overview The MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing, modifying, and updating MEP shop drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) based on project requirements, engineer instructions, and site conditions. The candidate must be skilled in AutoCAD, knowledgeable of UAE authority standards, and capable of coordinating with engineers, architects, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Drawing Preparation & Drafting
    • Create and update MEP shop drawings, layouts, and sections.
    • Prepare drawings for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, and ELV systems.
    • Produce as-built drawings, fabrication drawings, and detailed layouts.
    • Convert sketches and engineer markups into precise technical drawings.

  2. MEP Coordination
    • Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing engineers.
    • Identify and resolve clashes between MEP and civil/architectural elements.
    • Participate in MEP coordination meetings when required.

  3. Documentation & Control
    • Maintain drawing logs, revision records, and submission histories.
    • Ensure drawings meet company CAD standards and authority requirements.
    • Submit drawings to consultants and follow up for approvals.

  4. Site Support
    • Conduct site visits for measurements and verification.
    • Support site teams with layout drawings and clarifications.
    • Update drawings based on site changes and consultant comments.

  5. Compliance & Standards
    • Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, DCD, Trakhees, DDA, and other UAE authorities.
    • Maintain high accuracy and clarity in all drawings.

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Diploma in MEP Drafting, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or AutoCAD.
• 5–7 years of MEP drafting experience (UAE preferred).
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D/3D) and MEP drafting tools.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and

specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Attributes
• Experience in high-rise, commercial, villa, or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
• Familiarity with UAE authority submission standards.
