Purpose And Scope
As an MDM Engineer, you'll be working with key stakeholders to support Astellas data management strategy. Your skills will help drive the design, implementation, and optimization of Master Data Management solutions, specifically focusing on customer, product, and brand data.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define MDM administration, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Design and implement Veeva Network, leveraging your deep understanding of life sciences data.
• Review Infosphere, DataStage workflows, ETL processes, and data integration pipelines to recommend alterative solutions on other suitable platforms.
• Evaluate and recommend other MDM platforms based on business requirements.
• Participate in smaller focused mission teams to deliver value driven solutions aligned to our global and bold move priority initiatives and beyond.
• Design develop and implement robust and scalable data extraction processes to meet ever changing business needs.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams and practices across the organization including Commercial, Manufacturing, Medical, DataX, GrowthX and support other X (transformation) Hubs and Practices as appropriate, to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Provide Level 3 and 4 Technical Support to internal users troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring system uptime as soon as possible.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives identifying opportunities to optimize performance security and maintainability of existing data and platform architecture and other technology investments.
• Participate in the continuous delivery pipeline adhering to dev OPS best practices for version control automation and deployment. Ensuring effective management of the FoundationX backlog.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior team members, and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in MDM

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience. (Master's degree preferred.)
• Minimum 3-7 years' experience architecting pharmaceutical MDM solutions
• Data Governance and familiarity with Data Stewardship activities specific to pharmaceutical data
• 3 - 5+ years of experience in architecting and designing MDM solutions, specifically within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven expertise with MDM tools such as Veeva Network, IBM MDM Infosphere, DataStage, Oracle Analytics Cloud, knowledge of DataBricks is a plus
• Analytical tools relevant to pharmaceutical data management.
• Subject Matter Expertise: possess a strong understanding of data architecture/ engineering/operations across diverse areas like Commercial, Manufacturing and Medical
• Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to lead ad hoc analyses, identify performance gaps, and foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Agile Champion: Adherence to DevOps principles and a proven track record with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
• Reviews and maintain technical documentation aligned with Agile best practices

Preferred

• Minimum 3-7 years' experience architecting pharmaceutical MDM solutions
• Very strong communication skills and a proven track record of delivering business value
• Familiarity with other MDM platforms (Informatica MDM, Reltio, etc.) is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data profiling, and data lineage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
