DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConsistently provides proven, formal mentorshipHigh complexity assignments - ownerModerate complexity assignments - owner (1 or >)Low complexity assignments - provide oversight/reviewRegularly lead self and others and/or established as Product SME and/or established as specialistUnderstands how whole picture aligns to overall Ensono strategyInstallation and configuration of database software and related productsPlans and implements Database backup and recoveryImplementing robust change control and configuration management policiesCapacity planning & system-level architectureOS/Storage/DB configuration and optimizationDatabase security checks and audits, including compliance-related reporting & controlsGeneral database health checksDatabase monitoringWorking with DBMS vendor support (Oracle support, Microsoft support, etc.)Defining and maintaining quantitative SLAs and helping enhance current service levelsPhysical data model/architecture, DDL generation and maintenanceDB server migrations and decommissioningDatabase creation and configurationApplying patchesUpgrading the databasesMaintenance (proactive, reactive and automated); both scheduled and unscheduledDatabase refreshesImprove processes and proceduresLog-file reviewComplex trouble-shooting and repairsReporting on state of databasesDatabase tuning (proactive and reactive)Maintaining specialized environments such as log shipping, replication, cluster-based instances, etc.SOP (Std.
