Job Title: Investment Associate Angel & Venture Portfolio
Location: Mumbai, India (with travel)
Reporting to: (Founder, UBR Capital)
Type: Full-time
As an active angel investor with a diverse portfolio across multiple industries, UBR is seeking a highly capable Investment Associate to assist in evaluating new investment opportunities, conducting business analysis, and representing him in meetings with promoters, founders, and other stakeholders.
This role blends investment analysis, business judgment, and relationship-building, providing direct exposure to early and growth-stage businesses, deal negotiations, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deal Evaluation & Analysis
- Review and analyze pitch decks, business plans, and financial models.
- Identify key strengths, weaknesses, market opportunities, and potential risks.
- Prepare concise investment memos and summaries for decision-making.
2. Business Meetings & Representation
- Attend meetings with promoters, founders, and other investors, either alongside or independently.
- Build rapport and maintain professional relationships with entrepreneurs.
- Gather intelligence and insights to aid in investment decisions.
3. Due Diligence & Research
- Conduct industry, competitive, and market research.
- Support legal, financial, and operational due diligence processes.
- Liaise with external advisors, consultants, and subject-matter experts as required.
4. Portfolio Support
- Monitor performance of portfolio companies, track KPIs, and prepare regular updates.
Assist in follow-ups, reporting, and strategic discussions with portfolio founders.
Skills:
Strong financial modelling and business analysis capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage with senior entrepreneurs and promoters confidently.
High attention to detail with strong critical thinking.
Education: CA, MBA (Tier 1/Tier 2), CFA, or equivalent background preferred.
- Mindset: Proactive, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently in a high-paced environment.
