Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Dispense prescribed medications, ensuring correct dosage, labelling, and directions for use.
  • Provide patient counselling on proper medication use, possible side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed and ensure secure storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss treatment plans and drug therapies.
  • Monitor patients for side effects and efficacy of prescribed medications.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including proper documentation and inventory control.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to clinical audits as required.
  • Manage inventory and place orders to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm.D).
  • Valid license to practice as a Pharmacist from the relevant regulatory authority.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, including indications, side effects, and contraindications.
  • Familiarity with prescription software and pharmacy management systems.
