CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative engineering team member who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better

This internship role focuses on supporting secure development practices, vulnerability management, and security incident response. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience with modern security processes, assist in identifying and mitigating risks, and contribute to improving system and application security. You will also have opportunities to build on your technical skills in Python, JavaScript, and HTML, while learning to apply them within a cybersecurity context.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and improve company-defined secure development and operational standards and processes.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the vulnerability management program using a risk-based approach to help evaluate, prioritize, and secure CMT's systems and applications.
  • Effectively communicate security vulnerabilities and risks to issue owners and assist in remediation efforts.
  • Participate in the Security Incident Response Team investigations and response activities as required.
  • Facilitate routine vulnerability management review meetings with stakeholders to drive remediation efforts.
  • Support development and automation tasks using Python to enhance security workflows and reporting.
  • Assist in code and design reviews, with a focus on secure coding practices in Python, JavaScript, and HTML.
  • Help identify and mitigate common web vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF, SQL injection) in applications.
  • Manage other tasks and projects as requested by the Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams.
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise while collaborating with team members to solve security problems and ensure solutions are effectively integrated into business processes.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technology or engineering field.
  • Basic knowledge of AWS cloud services.
  • Programming familiarity with Python, with exposure to JavaScript and HTML for web application security and development tasks.
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn secure coding practices and web application security fundamentals.
  • Interest in cybersecurity, risk management, and secure development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to collaborate in a team environment.
