Reliance Retail is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager for Fashion Apparel to join our team in Thiruvananthapuram. This is a full-time, senior-level position responsible for leading and managing apparel store operations, driving sales, and ensuring exemplary customer service in a high-volume retail setup.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven expertise in apparel and store planning (Mandatory skill), ensuring optimal merchandise arrangement and inventory management to maximize sales.
  • Strong background in fashion retail, with hands-on experience handling apparel ranges and understanding market trends relevant to customer demographics.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and achieve sales targets, using data-driven approaches to monitor performance and adapt strategies for improvement.
  • Effective leadership capabilities with experience in team motivation, mentoring, and nurturing a culture of excellence and accountability among staff.
  • Sound knowledge and application of loss prevention techniques, ensuring robust shrinkage control and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Strong staff development skills for recruiting, training, and performance management, fostering individual and team professional growth.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills, consistently delivering outstanding service and resolving queries or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills for smooth coordination among team members, vendors, and management teams.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, high-pressure retail environment and adapt to evolving business requirements and industry standards.
  • Apparel and store planning (Mandatory skill) and sales, staff development, leadership, loss prevention (Required skills) are essential for excelling in this role.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of apparel department operations, ensuring adherence to Reliance Retails brand standards and operational policies.
  • Lead, train, and motivate store staff to provide exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping environment for all visitors.
  • Plan and implement effective merchandise displays, planograms, and inventory management strategies to enhance product visibility and drive sales.
  • Monitor daily sales performance, analyze metrics, and implement corrective actions to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Implement robust loss prevention measures, performing regular stock audits, and ensuring strict compliance with company processes.
  • Identify market trends and observe competitor activities to guide and execute innovative apparel sales strategies.
  • Foster staff professional growth through continuous coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to build a high-performing team.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally, maintaining high satisfaction levels and encouraging repeat business.
  • Coordinate effectively with vendors and internal departments for smooth supply chain functioning and timely product availability.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and legal guidelines are diligently followed to guarantee a safe retail environment for staff and customers.
