Position: Senior Data Architect

Location: Bangalore Coke Office (Hybrid)

Experience: 7-10 yrs

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect with proven expertise in Data Lake architecture and implementation. The candidate will design and lead enterprise-scale data lake strategies across cloud and hybrid environments, enabling advanced analytics, AI/ML, and BI. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise in building secure, scalable, and high-performing data ecosystems.Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise Data Lake architectures (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake, GCP Storage, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Define data ingestion frameworks (batch & streaming) using Kafka, Spark, Databricks, Glue, Synapse etc.
  • Develop and enforce data governance, metadata, lineage, and security models for the Data Lake.
  • Architect and optimize data lake zones (raw, curated, consumption) for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align data lake strategy with analytics, AI/ML, and BI use cases.
  • Guide data engineering teams in implementing high-performance ELT/ETL pipelines.
  • Establish best practices for data cataloging, partitioning, indexing, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide architectural oversight for cloud migration projects, modernizing legacy DWH to cloud-based Data Lakes.
  • Stay updated with emerging data lakehouse and big data technologies and recommend adoption.
  • Mentor junior architects and engineers to build scalable, reusable frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7-10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Data Lake technologies (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Gen2, GCP Storage, Databricks Delta Lake).
  • Experience with big data frameworks: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native services: AWS Glue, Athena, Redshift | Azure Synapse, Data Factory | GCP BigQuery, Dataflow.
  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Talend, dbt, Databricks).
  • Strong database knowledge: SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) + NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Knowledge of data governance, cataloging, lineage, and security frameworks.
  • Proven track record of delivering enterprise-wide data lake solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, Google Cloud Data Engineer, Databricks Certified Data Engineer.
  • Experience in data lakehouse implementations (Delta Lake, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with ML/AI data pipelines.
