Role & responsibilities

  • Drive strategic and day-to-day management of industrial relations for thousands of on-roll and off-roll employees.
  • Liaise and negotiate effectively with multiple unions and employee associations to proactively resolve disputes and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Lead and conclude long-term settlements, manage collective bargaining, and uphold compliance with applicable labour laws, government service rules, and company policies.
  • Handle employee grievances, IR litigation (Labour Court, Tribunal, High Court), departmental enquiries, and disciplinary proceedings.
  • Anticipate, prevent, and respond to industrial unrest including strikes, dharnas, and go-slow actions while ensuring minimal business disruption.
  • Provide expert guidance on contract labour management and best practices for large unionized and IR-prone operational contexts, especially in heavy engineering, mining, or utilities

Preferred candidate profile

  • PG in Social Welfare/IR/MBA (HR) from a reputed institution (BTech Preferred)
  • 20+ years IR leadership experience across heavy industry, mining, or infrastructure sectors
  • Demonstrated ability in handling multi-union negotiations, contract labour issues, and managing legacy government workforce integration
