Astitva is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving
health, nutrition, and wellbeing in tribal communities
of The Nilgiris. Through community-based interventions, we work with under-5 children, mothers, schools, and local institutions to strengthen health and nutrition awareness and practices.

Position Overview

The
Health Education Trainer
will be responsible for conducting
health and nutrition education sessions
in schools and community settings. The role involves engaging with students, teachers, and parents to promote healthy habits, hygiene, and nutrition practices. This position is ideal for someone passionate about community health, child wellbeing, and educational outreach.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interactive
  health and nutrition education sessions
  in schools and community spaces.
• Develop and use
  creative teaching aids, visuals, and demonstrations
  to engage learners.
• Organize
  awareness sessions
  on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, menstrual health, and healthy lifestyles.
• Support the project team in planning and implementing community health activities.
• Maintain session reports, attendance, and feedback records.
• Coordinate with local school authorities and health partners for smooth program delivery.
• Participate in regular team meetings, reviews, and training sessions organized by Astitva.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate (any stream; preference for education, social work, nutrition, or life sciences).
• Prior experience in teaching, training, or community work is desirable.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills in Tamil (knowledge of tribal dialects is an advantage).
• Basic understanding of child health and nutrition will be preferred.
• Willingness to travel within Kotagiri block and work with tribal communities.

Compensation

• ₹12,000 – ₹15,000 per month (based on experience)
