Role Overview: As a retail pharmacist, your main role will be to dispense medications in retail outlets to patients. You will spend a significant amount of time interacting with patients, answering their questions, and providing them with guidance on medication usage. Your work hours may vary based on the store's operational hours, including night shifts and weekends. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and dispense medications by confirming prescriptions, locating the correct medication, counting pills or measuring liquids, packaging items, providing instructions and warnings, and delivering prescriptions to customers or storing them for pickup. - Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, explaining medication usage, identifying potential drug interactions, highlighting side effects, and recommending over-the-counter remedies based on symptoms. - Collaborate with patients and their insurance providers to determine medication coverage and explore alternative options if needed. - Monitor and manage the inventory of medications and healthcare supplies in the store, including placing orders for restocking shelves. Qualifications Required: - Must have a B Pharmacy or D Pharmacy degree. - Preferred diploma in a relevant field. - Minimum 1 year of experience in medical sales is required.
