About the Role:

BHIM is on a mission to expand its user base and transaction volumes through strategic partnerships with merchants and Fintechs/PGs.

InchargePartnerships will be responsible for adoption of the
BHIM Partnerships for UPI
for Merchants, PGs and offline retail. This role requires a deep understanding of the Indian payments ecosystem, including UPI, merchant payment solutions and ability to manage GTM plans for categories. For example: Grocery, OTT, Telecom classify as categories. Offline retail here implies working with offline partnerships to drive adoption of BHIM App with an end state goal of transactions and users. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical grasp of payment infrastructure, ability to work closely with partners to solve challenges, and the strategic mindset to scale adoption working towards driving GTM plans leveraging consumer offers. The role will need on the feet thinking and bias for action to deliver a sales target on transactions and user acquisition for BHIM. This role is expected to deliver impact to not just drive short term goals but manage a category to drive user retention and connect back the customer to BHIM flywheel. This means generating monetization avenues via merchants and also co-create use cases to help connect the customer journey to other potential use cases on BHIM app and leverage merchant/client ecosystem to create network effects for BHIM beyond the obvious checkout experience. The candidate is expected to think out of the box and suggest ways to create a disproportionate advantage for BHIM via the merchant and PG ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnerships & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies to scale
    merchants
    onto the BHIM , ensuring seamless UPI adoption.
  • Identify key merchant partners, build relationships, and negotiate win-win agreements.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, technology, and operations teams to ensure smooth partner onboarding and integration.
  • Drive initiatives to scale user acquisition and transaction volumes through partner networks.
  • Work on intelligent offers working backwards of the business model of the client with an end objective to drive a long-term joint goal exercise . This not only means offers on UPI in general but UPI as a enhanced feature through RCC + more such avenues based on the business case.

Key Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's in Finance/Tech/Payments preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience
    in
    payments, ecommerce, fintech, or UPI ecosystem.
  • Prior experience in
    partnerships, business development, or product strategy
    in payments or category management
  • Strong understanding of
    UPI infrastructure, and merchant partnerships

Skills & Competencies

  • Payments Fundamentals:
    Deep understanding of UPI and Cards Fundamentals, and digital payment trends.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Ability to engage and influence senior leadership with, merchants, and fintechs/PGs.
  • Project & Partner Management:
    Experience handling large-scale partnerships and category management working backwards of targets
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    Ability to analyze data to track adoption, identify bottlenecks, and drive strategic changes.
  • Negotiation & Communication:
    Strong communication skills to drive high-value partnerships.
  • GTM Planning
    : Strong Aptitude for data deep dive, business intelligence and forward thinking to draft GTM plans and BCPs
