Job Title: Tandem Base24 Classic Developer

What does a successful Tandem Base24 Classic Developer do at Fiserv?

Fiserv is a world-class data and analytics organization delivering the next generation of powerful data insights and decisioning solutions to financial institutions, fintech, consumer/business credit bureaus, government agencies and merchants.   

As a successful Tandem Base24 Classic Developer, you will take a high-level strategy and work closely with the business and IT teams to develop an efficient and comprehensive solution to Fiserv's web systems and business service layers that perform well, are flexible, maintainable and compliant with all state and federal regulations.

What you will do:

• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (architecture and conceptual design, requirements analysis, high level design, detailed design, coding, unit test, integration and system, user and performance level testing.)
• Interface with other technical and development teams to develop solutions to Fiserv's processing systems.

What you will need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and 3+ years of work experience programming and designing business applications.
• Hands-on development and testing experience in Base24 Classic payment switch application hosted on HP Tandem.
• Experience on the following Language/Tools Tandem concepts: TAL, TACL, SCOBOL, COBOL, Pathway, BATCHCOM, FUP, INSPECT, EINSPECT, BIND, SCF, SCUP.
• Experience on ENSCRIBE/SQL databases.
• Experience on usage of XPNET configuration and commands. Understanding of Base24 source codes, change and release management, application debugging and problem resolution.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills experience on Base24 ATM, POS, Schemes, BIC ISO, Host ISO interchange interfaces. Knowledge of transaction testing tools or simulators.
• Good understanding on ISO8583 message format.

What would be great to have:

• Experience on TAL programming, debugging, defect fixing on HP Tandem systems.
• Experience in handling ATM, POS, EMV, Tokenized transactions, etc for ACI BASE24-Classic Switch hosted on HP Tandem system.
• Responsible for Design, Develop, Test, Build, Document and Troubleshooting capabilities to satisfy business requirements.
• Responsible for Low Level Design creation from the Functional Specification document. Collaboration on Design, Build activities with onshore and client teams.
• Conduct reviews of various artifacts: Design, Code and Test .Build and Configure applications to meet business process and application requirements.
• Development aligning to the client coding standards and guidelines. Report the progress on agreed frequency to onshore team.
