Role & responsibilities:

  • Ensure high availability of all electrical equipment and systems in the power plant.
  • Plan resource requirement for electrical maintenance- manpower, materials and
  • contracts.
  • Ensure availability of spares and other infrastructure for maintenance
  • Supervision of maintenance measures in electrical maintenance division and ensuring
  • quality of maintenance.
  • Minimise cost of maintenance of the plant and optimise equipment lifecycle cost.
  • Minimise response time to the customer (i.e Operations) for handling routine day-to-
  • day problems.
  • Optimise Mean Time between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Network with other electrical maintenance teams at other locations to capture learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Equipment upgradation as per OEM, OES.
  • Grid coordination with WRLDC/CSEB
  • Indigenous spare development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and statutory requirements IMS-ISO 9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, EnMS ISO 50001:2018.
  • Technical skills: SAP MM & PM

Functional Competencies:

  • Technical knowledge of all electrical machines and equipment including testing (e.g. generator, motors, transformers, switch gears, relays etc.)
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures with respect to maintenance of main plant & BOP, transformers, switch yard, CHP, AHP and Raw water pump house.
  • Technical trouble shooting and ability to identify root cause of the problems to avoid recurrence.
  • Understanding of working of equipment and history of equipment.
  • Knowledge of power generation process and commercial and tariff, aspects.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental aspects of power generation.
  • Awareness of suppliers of material and services for electrical maintenance.
  • Knowledge of modern maintenance management practices and spares inventory management.
  • Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to electrical equipment.

Cross functional competence requirement

  • Knowledge of Engineering, Erection and Operations.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, C&I and Civil Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Finance, HR, IT and P&C.

Behavioral & Management Competencies:

  • Team player with keen interest in improving the system and adopting various predictive maintenance techniques for continual improvement.
