The
Operations Assistant – R&D
will support the R&D team by managing vendor communications, obtaining quotations, preparing procurement-related documents, and facilitating coordination between the R&D, and other departments. This role ensures smooth operational and administrative support for ongoing R&D projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with vendors to request and follow up on quotations for machining works, laser cutting, components, and other project requirements.
  • Compare quotations based on quality, lead time, and cost to support vendor selection.
  • Prepare procurement documentation such as Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders.
  • Liaise between the R&D team and the Purchase department to ensure timely processing of orders.
  • Maintain an updated database of approved vendors, pricing, and lead times.
  • Assist project leads with administrative and logistics needs related to ongoing R&D projects.
  • Track and monitor order status and follow up on delivery schedules.
  • Organize and maintain project-related files and records for easy retrieval.

Skills Required

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and vendor management.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Email) and ERP systems (preferred).
  • Vendor relationship management.

Qualification : Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, SupplyChain, or related field.
Experience :
0-1 years
of experience in procurement coordination, sourcing, or operations (preferably in manufacturing or R&D environment).
