Overview: The Associate Lead Engineer-Firmware plays a crucial role in leading firmware development projects and ensuring the seamless integration of firmware with hardware for optimal performance. This role is essential for driving innovation in product design and delivering high-quality, reliable firmware solutions.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee firmware development projects from conception to delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define firmware requirements and specifications
  • Design and develop firmware for embedded systems using C language
  • Implement and optimize real-time operating systems (RTOS) for embedded applications
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to a team of firmware engineers
  • Perform debugging and troubleshooting of firmware issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for firmware development
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of firmware development processes and methodologies
  • Support product testing and validation activities to ensure firmware reliability and performance
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks and challenges in firmware development
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in embedded firmware development
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior firmware engineers
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for firmware designs and processes
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware with overall product architecture
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in firmware development for embedded systems
  • Proven expertise in C programming language for embedded firmware development
  • Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and their application in embedded systems
  • Experience in debugging and troubleshooting firmware issues using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for firmware development
  • Ability to lead and manage firmware development projects, including team coordination and task prioritization
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex firmware challenges
  • Capability to mentor and guide junior engineers in firmware development best practices
  • Familiarity with version control systems and firmware testing methodologies
  • In-depth understanding of hardware-software co-verification and integration principles
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
