About the Role

This internship offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI applications in healthcare by contributing to computer vision models and fine-tuning large language models (LLMs). You'll collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and domain experts to design, train, and evaluate models that directly impact patient care and clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, annotate, and preprocess text, image, and medical data for model training.
  • Assist in training and fine-tuning LLMs for domain-specific tasks (question answering, summarization, medical report generation).
  • Support the development of computer vision pipelines for tasks like image classification, object detection, and anomaly detection.
  • Run experiments with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow) and evaluate model performance.
  • Document methodologies, experiments, and results in a reproducible format.
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to the product and clinical teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Strong Python programming skills with experience in PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts, NLP, and computer vision fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with data preprocessing for text (tokenization, embeddings) and images (augmentation, normalization).
  • Understanding of transformer architectures (BERT, GPT, etc.) and CNNs/vision transformers.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in fine-tuning LLMs using Hugging Face Transformers or similar libraries.
  • Exposure to MLOps tools (Weights & Biases, MLflow, DVC).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for model training.
  • Interest or background in healthcare/medical AI applications.
