Key responsibilities include setting up, monitoring, and maintaining the heart-lung machine and ECMO circuits, managing vital signs, blood circulation, and gas exchange. They also administer medications, troubleshoot equipment, document procedures, and work collaboratively with surgical and critical care teams to ensure patient stability.
Role & responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain heart-lung machines and ECMO equipment.
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor and manage the patient's vital signs, blood flow, oxygen levels, and waste product removal during procedures.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Regulate blood chemistry, temperature, and blood flow to maintain the patient's physiological stability.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and blood products through the perfusion circuit as directed by the surgical team.
- Problem Solving: Monitor and interpret data from blood gas, coagulation, and other laboratory tests to make real-time adjustments to the perfusion circuit.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all perfusion equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly before, during, and after procedures.
- Emergency Support: Provide critical support for unforeseen complications, including ventricular assist device implantation and ECMO in emergencies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of the entire perfusion process for medical records.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
Preferred candidate profile
- Candidate must have min experience of 4 years.
- Preferably from Hospital background.
- Can able to work independently.
