Location : Gurgaon (Work from Office 5 days a week)

Experience Required : 8+ years

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Azure Engineer to join our team in Gurgaon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure Data Engineering, Databricks, PySpark, and SQL, combined with proven leadership skills in managing high-performing teams. This role demands a hands-on technologist who can drive project delivery, mentor team members, and ensure best practices in data engineering.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage a team of 5+ data engineers in delivering end-to-end Azure-based data engineering solutions.

- Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines and frameworks using Azure Data Engineering services.

- Work extensively on Databricks for building and optimizing big data solutions.

- Develop and optimize data transformation processes using PySpark.

- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data architects, business analysts, and

stakeholders to deliver business-driven data solutions.

- Establish coding standards, best practices, and review processes to ensure high-quality delivery.

- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to team members.

- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize data processing pipelines.

- Ensure timely delivery of projects while managing resources and risks effectively.

Must-Have Skills :

- 8+ years of overall experience in data engineering.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Data Engineering development projects.

- 2+ years of proven experience with Databricks development.

- 2+ years of strong programming experience in PySpark.

- 2+ years of expertise in SQL development and optimization.

- Proficient in writing, analyzing, and tuning SQL queries.

- 2+ years of experience leading and managing a team of 5 or more members in data

engineering delivery.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with

stakeholders at all levels.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics.

- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

- Exposure to performance optimization and advanced analytics.
