Job Title: Wire Drawing Operator

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Reports To: Production Supervisor or Plant Manager

Location: Udaipur

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

The Wire Drawing Operator is responsible for operating wire drawing machines to reduce wire diameter according to specified dimensions and quality standards. The operator ensures machines run efficiently, monitors process parameters and performs basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate wire drawing machines according to production orders and specifications.
  • Load and thread wire through the die sequence to begin drawing operations.
  • Monitor machine operation and adjust settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect wire for diameter, surface finish, and defects using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  • Change dies and spools, lubricate machines, and perform basic maintenance.
  • Record production data, machine settings, and quality checks accurately.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or material inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with maintenance or quality control teams as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and production schedules.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
  • Prior experience operating wire drawing or similar metal processing machinery preferred.
  • Basic mechanical skills and understanding of machine operations.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and measuring instruments.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift materials up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs].
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Work Environment:

  • Industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Exposure to loud noise, lubricants, and machinery.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

Experienced operators may advance to lead operator, machine technician, or supervisory roles with additional training and experience.
