Job Summary
We are seeking a GitHub Architect with strong automation and migration expertise to design, implement, and optimize GitHub Enterprise solutions. The role involves leading Perforce-to-GitHub migration strategy, developing scalable automation frameworks, and ensuring operational excellence through CI/CD and DevOps best practices.

The ideal candidate will build and maintain automated workflows and pipelines using GitHub Actions and scripting languages like Python and Bash to streamline repository management, automation, and migration processes. The position requires strong collaboration skills to guide engineering teams and ensure smooth adoption of GitHub Enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and integrate GitHub Enterprise into customer environments.
  • Lead Perforce-to-GitHub migration, including repository restructuring, full history migration, and permission mapping.
  • Provide expert guidance on Git workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD integration.
  • Build and optimize automated workflows and pipelines using GitHub Actions and related tools.
  • Develop automation frameworks for repository provisioning, compliance, and monitoring.
  • Ensure governance, security, and best practices across GitHub usage and migration.
  • Create technical documentation, knowledgebase content, and enablement materials.
  • Act as technical liaison across engineering, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

Required Skills
We are looking for a GitHub Architect with deep technical and analytical capabilities:

  • Hands-on experience migrating large Perforce repositories to GitHub using tools such as git-p4 and Salesforce p4-fusion.
  • Ability to analyze large Perforce repositories and configure Git LFS for oversized artifacts.
  • Expertise in mapping users, permissions, branching models, and repository structures from Perforce to GitHub.
  • Strong scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and workflow optimization.
  • Understanding of Perforce permission complexities and strategies for simplifying GitHub access control.
  • Expertise in GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools for building scalable pipelines.
  • Experience in designing automation frameworks for repository setup, permission management, and compliance.
  • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain large-scale GitHub environments.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-native delivery models.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to centralize automation playbooks and APIs.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for scalable deployments related to GitHub Enterprise management.
  • Ability to evaluate and apply automation best practices to enhance stability, scalability, and productivity in development operations.
