Job title: SAP MM Consultant

Location: Mumbai

Roles and responsibilities

Business & Process Understanding

  • Work with Procurement & Finance stakeholders to understand end-to-end procurement process flows:
  • PR PO GR IR Payment.
  • Master Data synchronization (Supplier, Material, Cost Center, GL, etc.).
  • Map processes between S/4HANA MM and the Spend Management tool (Coupa/Ariba/etc.).
  • Identify integration touchpoints (e.g., POs from S/4 Spend Mgmt, Invoices from Spend Mgmt S/4).

Solution Design & Integration Blueprint

  • Define integration scenarios:
  • Master Data (Material, Supplier, Plants, GL Accounts, Cost Centres).
  • Transactional Data (PR, PO, GR, Invoices, Payment Status).
  • Design interface architecture with CPI:
  • IDoc (ORDERS, INVOIC, MATMAS, CREMAS) or APIs (OData/REST).
  • Mapping of fields between S/4 MM and Spend Mgmt System.
  • Create functional specifications for ABAP developers (custom IDoc enhancements, BAPIs, BADIs, user exits).
  • Validate CPI integration flows with middleware developers.

Developer Guidance (ABAP & CPI)

  • Work closely with ABAP team:
  • Provide FS for RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
  • Review IDoc structure, custom segments, enhancements.
  • Guide on error handling (BD87, WE02/WE19, SLG1 logs).
  • Work closely with CPI team:
  • Define message mapping rules (S/4HANA Spend Mgmt).
  • Support CPI in handling authentication, error retries, and payload validation.
  • Validate inbound/outbound messages against business rules.

Testing & Validation

  • Prepare integration test cases (end-to-end scenarios across S/4 & Spend Mgmt).
  • Validate PR/PO creation in S/4 appears in Spend Mgmt system.
  • Check Invoice received in Spend Mgmt posted in S/4HANA FI/MM.
  • Ensure error handling & reconciliation processes are documented.

Educational Qualification :

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Finance, or related field
  • SAP Certification (preferred)

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of SAP MM experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle: PR PO GR IR Payment.
  • Expertise in Master Data Management (Material, Vendor, Purchasing Info Records, Source List).
  • Familiarity with Release Strategies, Pricing Procedures, Inventory Management, and Logistics Invoice Verification.
  • Experience with Fiori apps in Procurement (PR approval, PO creation, Goods Movement, etc.).
  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA MM (Materials Management) module.
