Job Summary

If you are looking for an opportunity in a manufacturing company and have a background in creating bill of materials for products, Emerson has an exciting role for you You will be a part of the team located in FCEC, Chennai and will provide engineering Bill of Materials support for Crosby & Anderson Greenwood Relief valve products.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

1. Reviewing Internal Sales Orders that come to ETO by using SAP Variant configurator, Master Parts Lists and other Engineering Documents.
2. Checking if the requirements are logical, clean and complete in Sales orders. Work with Order Entry/Application Engineering, if the sales order needs to be cleaned.
3. Selecting, extending, and creating part numbers as per the availability.
4. Streamlining Part number database by working with Global Data Stewards.
5. Updating the incomplete Bill of Materials with standard or special Part numbers as per the Sales Order requirements.
6. Collaborating with Product Engineers/Design Engineers for Special design validation and parts creation.
7. Collaborating with factory leadership for Product extensions and VC Enhancement activities.
8. Supporting the Change Order requests by modifying the BOM as per the updated requirements.
9. Providing technical support for PSQ and Documentation teams.
10. Maintain records of all work done.

Who You Are:

You have good attention to details and can review sales order requirements against Engineering Documents to produce High Quality Bill of Materials. You can identify the right part among the list of part numbers that looks the same. You can identify any discrepancies or conflicts based on Engineering logics. You can communicate with the Project Engineers/Application Engineers effectively to resolve any issues with Sales order requirements. You actively seek input from pertinent sources to make timely and well-informed decisions.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelors degree in engineering (Preferably Mechanical)
• Strong communication skills in English both written and verbal
• Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering and dimensional drawings.
• Proficiency in MS Office

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Basics of SAP or any relevant ERP.
• Prior experience of 2 years in similar industry or in Bill of materials function
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Learning agility for fast learning of work processes.
