We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll operations, ensure statutory compliance, and provide accurate payroll-related support to employees. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of payroll processes, HRMS systems, and Indian statutory laws.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll across all locations/entities.
  • Manage complex pay structures, arrears, variable pay, reimbursements, and bonuses.
  • Accurate deduction and deposit of PF, ESI, TDS, PT, LWF, and other statutory contributions.
  • File monthly/quarterly/annual statutory returns on time (PF, ESI, Income Tax, etc.).
  • Keep track of labor law updates and ensure compliance.
  • Process payroll inputs for new hires, exits, promotions, transfers, and salary revisions.
  • Handle full & final settlements (F&F) including gratuity, leave encashment, and notice pay.
  • Maintain accurate employee master database for payroll.
  • Coordinate with Finance for salary disbursement, journal entries, and GL reconciliation.
  • Ensure error-free bank transfers and accounting records.
  • Prepare payroll MIS and analytical reports for management.
  • Act as the SPOC for employee payroll queries.
  • Provide clarity on payslips, tax deductions, investment proofs, and CTC structure.
  • Support internal, external, and statutory audits.
  • Ensure zero non-compliance or penalties.
  • Maintain payroll documentation for audit trails.
  • Optimize payroll processes using HRMS/ERP systems.
  • Suggest improvements for reducing manual errors and improving efficiency.
  • Drive digitization of payroll and compliance records

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Indian payroll laws & statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and HRMS/payroll software.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce / HR / Finance (MBA in HR/Finance preferred).
  • Min 0-5 years of proven experience in payroll processing and compliance.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
