ROLE OBJECTIVE

Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the development of high-voltage electronic systems. This role involves translating system-level requirements into robust hardware architectures, designing and validating PCBs for high-current applications, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and manufacturable solutions

RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirement Engineering & Architecture:

• Derive hardware requirements from system-level specifications and architectures.
• Develop and maintain high-level hardware concepts and architectures.
• Ensure traceability and coverage of all system requirements in hardware design.

PCB Design & Development:

• Create schematics and layouts using Altium Designer, optimised for high-voltage and high-current applications.
• Apply advanced HV designs including creepage/clearance, insulation coordination, and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Integrate thermal and current-handling strategies into PCB and system design.

Simulation, Testing & Validation:

• Perform circuit simulations and hardware integration tests.
• Define and execute design verification and validation plans.
• Support system-level testing, root-cause analysis, and prototype builds.

Design for Manufacturing & Documentation:

• Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost, and assembly.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation including design packages, test reports, and EOL requirements.
• Contribute to market research and competitor benchmarking to inform design decisions and cost structures.

EDUCATION/CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• 8+ years electrical engineering related experience for Automotive HV application
• Strong expertise in high-voltage system design (IEC compliance).
• Proficiency in Altium Designer for PCB development.
• Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based designs.
• Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO and cybersecurity principles.
• Familiarity with communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, SPI, JTAG, WiFi.
• Hands-on experience with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer).
• Understanding of thermal management and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Collaborate across engineering teams, Support project planning and analysis
• Coordinate with stakeholders and suppliers
