Title and Summary

Platform Engineer II1. Overview - DBA to handle Critical Production Oracle and Postgres databases. Additional Database technology knowledge.

  1. Role - Database Administrator II

  2. Proactively monitoring database performance and troubleshooting issues

  3. Working cross-functionally with our engineers and analytics professionals to optimize queries, fix performance bottlenecks, improve existing schemas and design new ones
  4. Creating and maintaining change control and testing processes, reviewing and approving database modifications
  5. Reviewing development and deployment processes related to databases and identifying areas of improvement (such as online schema changes)
  6. Implement database changes and modifications as per the application release activities
  7. Can do database patching , database upgrades and implement best practice on databases .
  8. Improving database expertise company-wide

  9. Additional knowledge of Oracle and Redis will be helpful as there are some critical respective modules resides on those technologies.

  10. All about You/Experience

  11. Postgres DBA experience in a 24x7 production environment

  12. 3+ years of database management and engineering experience
  13. Experience architecting a large-scale production database platforms
  14. Expertise with Postgres system metrics and optimization strategies
  15. Familiarity with system level metrics and practical use of common Linux utilities
  16. Understanding of virtualization and clustered environments
  17. Great communication skills and a passion for both teaching and learning
