Role Responsibilities:
  • Execute comprehensive mainframe testing activities, including system integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts and scenarios based on business requirements.
  • Identify, document, and manage defects using appropriate defect tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with development and business teams to ensure smooth integration of applications.
  • Perform performance and load testing to ensure application efficiency.
  • Conduct data validation to ensure accuracy and reliability of data processed.
  • Execute regression testing after system modifications or enhancements.
  • Participate in reviews of test plans, cases, and scripts to improve quality assurance processes.
  • Report progress and test results to stakeholders regularly.
  • Provide support for production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Implement test automation tools to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Understand and adhere to industry standards and best practices in testing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during testing activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the testing team.
  • Train and mentor junior testing staff as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in mainframe testing.
  • Proficiency in defect management tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla.
  • Strong knowledge of mainframe environments, including COBOL and JCL.
  • Experience in test automation tools such as Selenium or QTP.
  • Solid understanding of SQL for database testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile testing methodologies.
  • Experience in ETL testing and understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently while being a team player.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies.
  • Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
