Senior BI Developer

Job brief

An ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience working in live projects related to data analysis or Business Intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-grade Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence (BI), and Embedded Analytics solutions in collaboration with cross-functional business and technical teams.
  • Architect, develop, and optimize complex BI solutions, including interactive dashboards, reports, ETL processes, and advanced data visualizations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Integrate and transform data from diverse sources (files, cloud platforms, APIs, databases) into centralized data warehouse and data lake environments.
  • Drive performance tuning, optimization, and scalability improvements to ensure BI solutions deliver high availability and fast query performance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data models, data dictionaries, process flows, and user guides, ensuring version control and knowledge continuity.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior developers and analysts within the BI team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable BI solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Offer production support during off-hours, weekends, or holidays when required to ensure business continuity and system reliability

Skills Areas

  • Strong proficiency in Data Analysis, Data Cleansing, Transformation, Loading (ETL), and Visualization, with a deep understanding of data modeling and optimization best practices.
  • Proven experience in BI solution design, including dashboards, reports, relational and multidimensional data modeling, and BI platform administration, migration, and upgrades.
  • Advanced skills in SQL for developing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, IBM DataStage, or equivalent technologies for data integration and workflow automation.
  • Expertise with leading Visualization Platformspreferably Amazon QuickSight, or alternatively Bold BI , Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Domain knowledge in fraud and risk management, retail payments, banking, or financial services.
  • Strong aptitude for learning and implementing emerging BI and data technologies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive and self-driven work approach.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team management capabilities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience of 5+ years. Possession of a professional degree / post-graduation is desirable. Certifications in the respective technology areas will be an added advantage
