Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Biomedical Engineer Head, based in Pune. The role involves leading the biomedical engineering team, overseeing the maintenance, servicing, and operation of medical equipment, and ensuring its adherence to safety codes and quality assurance standards. The Head will also develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance programs, support clinical teams, evaluate new medical technologies, and provide technical guidance across all related activities.

Experience: 8 to 10 years in EMS .


•      
Qualification: Degree /Diploma in biomedical engineering or biomedical instrumentation.

Key responsibilities:


•      Medical Equipment Maintenance: Oversee regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of critical medical devices (e.g., defibrillators, ventilators, monitors) to ensure they are ready for emergency use.


•      Calibration and Testing: Ensure all equipment is calibrated correctly and tested regularly to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.


•      Inventory Management: Maintain and manage an inventory of medical equipment and spare parts, ensuring availability and timely replacements.


•      Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all equipment adheres to legal and safety regulations (e.g., FDA, OSHA), and keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.


•      Staff Training and Support: Provide training for EMS staff on proper usage, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of medical equipment.


•      Emergency Support: Troubleshoot and address equipment failures during emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to EMS operations.


•      Procurement: Manage the acquisition of new medical equipment and ensure it meets operational needs and budget constraints.
