Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop piping layouts, equipment layouts, and pipe support arrangements with a strong understanding of piping design concepts.
  • Independently execute piping design activities with minimal or no supervision.
  • Perform detailed pipe routing for tank farms, pumps, heat exchangers, pipe racks, and reactors.
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, line lists, piping specifications, vendor drawings, and interdisciplinary documents.
  • Prepare and update 2D layouts and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure clash-free designs.
  • Model equipment, piping, and structural components in AutoCAD Plant 3D, including orthographic drawings, isometrics, and MTO extraction.
  • Identify and rectify Plant 3D issues during isometric extraction to ensure accurate deliverables.
  • Conduct model reviews using Autodesk Navisworks Manage.
  • Work with point cloud (laser scan) data for brownfield and revamp projects (added advantage).
  • Resolve interface issues between piping, equipment, structural, and other disciplines.
  • Ensure timely submission of deliverables in line with project schedules and quality standards.
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability checks, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 15+ years of piping design experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, or related industries.
  • Strong expertise in piping layout concepts, equipment layouts, and pipe support design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D (equipment, piping, structural modeling, orthographic/isometric drawings, and MTO extraction).
  • Solid experience in 2D drafting and layout preparation.
  • Mandatory: Model review using Navisworks Manage.
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, piping specifications, and vendor data integration.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across disciplines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D administration.
  • Experience in brownfield and revamp projects.
  • Exposure to point cloud (laser scan) modeling.
  • Ability to mentor junior designers and support design standardization initiatives.
