Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled
Lead I – DevOps Engineer
to design, develop, optimise, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines and cloud/on-premises automation solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Azure DevOps, automation, infrastructure provisioning, and containerization, while also guiding and mentoring DevOps engineers within Agile teams.

Role Proficiency

  • Understand customer requirements and translate them into DevOps architectures.
  • Design, install, configure, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines & DevOps toolchains.
  • Manage and guide at least one Agile development team.
  • Support and enhance existing DevOps solutions; build new scalable components.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps Engineering & Automation

  • Develop/Support automation components for installation, configuration, build & deployment tasks.
  • Configure CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning for cloud or on-prem environments under architect guidance.
  • Optimize cost, efficiency, and quality of DevOps tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Validate solutions with user teams and support integration/commissioning.

CI/CD & Cloud Infrastructure

  • Manage Azure DevOps Server/Services including collections, pipelines, repos, and service connections.
  • Integrate CI/CD workflows with toolsets such as Git, SonarQube, Jenkins, and Selenium.
  • Configure and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Support application migration from on-premises to cloud.

Scripting & Tooling

  • Develop scripts using Python, Shell, PowerShell, Perl, Groovy.
  • Manage version control: Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, ClearCase.
  • Maintain build automation (Maven/Ant) and artifact repositories (Nexus/Artifactory).
  • Manage dashboard/reporting tools like ELK, Splunk.

Agile Collaboration & Mentoring

  • Work with cross-functional Agile teams for smooth DevOps adoption.
  • Mentor A1/A2 engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Review code and support troubleshooting of complex issues not covered by SOPs.

Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare and share status reports with management and stakeholders.
  • Onboard new users and teams onto DevOps tools.
  • Create SOPs, training plans, and documentation to support DevOps operations.

  • Quality of deliverables
  • Error/completion rate across SDLC/PDLC
  • Number of reusable components developed
  • Domain/Technology certifications obtained
  • SLA compliance for onboarding and ticket resolution

Required Technical Skillset

  • CI/CD pipeline design & troubleshooting (Jenkins, Bamboo, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Code quality/test tools (SonarQube, Cobertura, Clover)
  • Build/deploy automation integration (Selenium, JUnit, NUnit)
  • Scripting: Python, Linux Shell, Perl, Groovy, PowerShell
  • Infrastructure automation: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, ARM templates
  • Cloud experience: AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Repository management: Git, Bitbucket, GitHub
  • Artifact management: Nexus, Artifactory
  • Dashboard/monitoring: ELK, Splunk
  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Azure DevOps expertise (mandatory)
