As a long-only fund focused exclusively on the Indian public equity markets, we are looking for an individual with a deep understanding of Indian businesses and a passion for fundamental research and long-term investing.
This is an in-office role based in our Fort, Mumbai office. About Us:At Azlin Thema Consultants Pvt.
Ltd., we provide dedicated investment research and advisory services to Blue Lotus Investment Fund, a foreign portfolio investor (FPI) established in 2015. Our work underpins a highly-concentrated investment strategy focused on business fundamentals, including barriers to entry, returns on capital, and effective management capital allocation. We conduct in-depth analysis across diverse industries, prioritizing the rigorous review of annual reports and financial statements, direct engagement with company management, and insights gathered from industry participants.
Role Overview:The Investment Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the fund management team by conducting in-depth research and analysis of Indian public equities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, a solid understanding of financial modeling, and the ability to identify compelling investment opportunities within our long-only mandate. Most importantly, the candidate must communicate complex ideas in a simple, pragmatic way.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct fundamental research on companies across various sectors of the Indian public equity market. Develop and maintain detailed financial models, including forecasting, valuation (DCF, comparable analysis, etc.), and scenario analysis. Analyze company financials, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors impacting potential investments.
Prepare detailed research reports and presentations summarizing findings and providing investment recommendations.Assist in the ongoing monitoring and analysis of existing portfolio holdings. Participate in company management calls, industry interactions, and conferences. Contribute to the overall investment strategy and idea generation process.
Stay abreast of market developments, regulatory changes, and other relevant news. Qualifications:Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field from a reputed institution.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in equity research, investment analysis, or a related role, with a strong focus on the Indian public equity market. Required Skills and Attributes:Proven track record in fundamental equity research and financial modeling. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in financial databases and research tools (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, etc.). High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
Affable nature with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Demonstrated curiosity and a strong hunger for understanding markets and continuous learning. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
