Workday Finance

We are seeking a seasoned
Workday Financials Lead Consultant
to lead the successful delivery of Workday Financials implementations and support engagements. This role involves hands-on execution of project deliverables, strategic client consultation, and mentoring of junior consultants. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Workday Financials and cross-functional knowledge across accounting, finance, and technology.

You will work across all phases of the Workday implementation lifecycle — from discovery and planning through configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. This is a leadership-level consulting role designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects, and enjoy solving complex business problems.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Lead or support end-to-end implementations of Workday Financials for mid-sized to large enterprise clients.
• Facilitate discovery and planning workshops, gather and document requirements, and design scalable solutions aligned with Workday best practices.
• Configure business processes, reports, and integrations in Workday Financials modules.
• Perform rigorous testing and provide ongoing support throughout deployment.
• Ensure quality and consistency in deliverables across multiple, concurrent projects.

Client Engagement

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in Workday Financials, offering strategic advice and best practices to clients.
• Interpret client requirements, propose alternative solutions, and align system configuration with business goals.
• Develop trusted advisor relationships with clients through proactive communication and thought leadership.

Leadership & Mentorship

• Guide junior consultants by assigning tasks, reviewing work, and providing developmental feedback.
• Share lessons learned, implementation insights, and product knowledge across project teams and internal knowledge forums.
• Contribute to methodology improvements and best practice documentation.

Internal Collaboration & Contribution

• Participate in internal initiatives, training sessions, and domain-specific working groups to enhance delivery capabilities.
• Engage with the broader Workday ecosystem, contributing to product discussions and community knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
• 7+ years
  of hands-on experience with ERP/Financials implementations (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, ADP, etc.).
• Minimum 4+
  years
  of direct experience implementing
  Workday Financials
  .
• Deep expertise in one or more Workday Financials modules (e.g., Accounting, Revenue, Procurement, Grants, Expenses).
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes into system configurations.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, and client-facing skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple active engagements.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to
  50%
  depending on project needs.
• Active Workday Financials Certification(s) required
  and must be maintained through ongoing recertification.
