Role Overview

The DevOps Data Engineer will be responsible for orchestrating and optimizing data workflows, ensuring reliable data delivery and analytics for PowerBI on Azure environments. This position is remote, part-time, and based in India, delivering services to a US-based client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated data pipelines for PowerBI utilizing Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Manage and monitor data ingestion, transformation, and ETL processes in cloud environments.
  • Administer and optimize databases on Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and related cloud data services.
  • Implement CI/CD practices for data workflows (not application code), deploying updates to PowerBI datasets, reports, and data solutions.
  • Collaborate with US client's analytics and BI teams to ensure data reliability, quality, and secure access.
  • Establish data governance and testing automation for robust data operations.
  • Maintain documentation and support knowledge transfer for team members.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Azure cloud data engineering (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, Azure SQL).
  • Hands-on PowerBI data modeling, DAX, and report publishing in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in ETL pipeline automation, preferably with tools like Azure DevOps for data-centric CI/CD.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security best practices, and monitoring concepts for cloud data flows.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation in Azure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for remote team collaboration with US-based stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with version control tools (Git) for managing data pipeline assets.
  • Prior work in part-time, remote roles for global clients.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) for Azure data resources setup and management.

Position Details

  • Location: India (Remote)
  • Hours: Part-time (Flexible scheduling, typically 20 hours/week)
  • Client: US-based Pharmacy organization

Job Types: Part-time, Contractual / Temporary, Freelance

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹100, ₹150,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
