The Senior Application Developer serves as a lead developer on the Scrum team. We are looking for a Sr. C# .Net developer with proven success in building applications, has strong experience with back-end and is able to assist with the front end, and is well versed with the microservices architecture. Your primary responsibilities will be creation of new applications and services as well as the enhancement of existing ones. This professional will coordinate and collaborate with the team members in different time zones. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, following design best practices, adhering to timelines and deadlines, and delivery of high quality is essential. This is completely a remote position and flexibility with schedule to work US EST hours is a must.

Specific duties include:

  • Help the development team in the design, initiation, coding, testing and debugging of software applications and services.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
  • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
  • Ability to work closely with product owner and scrum master to coordinate the sprint commitment & release
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
  • Mentoring, coaching and coordinating training for other developers to help accelerate their development and raise the bar on overall team performance
  • Take initiatives and able to push deliveries on time.
  • Help resolve production issues

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an agile development environment
  • Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision, with excellent time-management, prioritization and communication skills
  • Proficient in C# .Net with a good knowledge of its ecosystems, along with Angular and Message Engine methodologies
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Skill for writing reusable C# libraries
  • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Working knowledge of SQL, data extracts and reporting
  • Knowledge of Messaging Queues ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or Kafka
  • Experienced in Test Driven Development
  • Experience with writing Unit/Integration/Migration tests
  • Basic understanding of Common Language Runtime (CLR), its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
  • Ability to work in a financial domain fast paced environment with tight deadlines on the requirements
  • Quick learner and can adapt to the changing needs of the business

Desired Qualifications:

  • Computer Science, Information Technology, Associate or BS, degree a plus and/or equivalent combination of experience, knowledge, skills and abilities
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in application development or related field
  • Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive with excellent documentations skills
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Extremely organized with strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills
