Roles And Responsibilities

  • Preparer and review US Individual tax returns (Form 1040 with related schedules: A, B, C, D, E, etc.) and Partnership returns (Form 1065 with Schedule K-1s and related schedules).
  • Handle complex tax scenarios including:
  • Multi-state filings and residency issues.
  • Foreign income reporting, FBAR, FATCA compliance.
  • Book-to-tax adjustments (M-1, M-2), capital accounts, and partner allocations.
  • Partnership basis analysis, guaranteed payments, and special allocations.
  • Review client documentation (W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, brokerage statements, financials) and identify discrepancies or missing information.
  • Work on year-end planning, tax projections, and estimated payments.
  • Ensure compliance with US tax laws, IRS regulations, and state requirements.
  • Mentor junior preparers, conduct quality checks, and provide technical guidance.
