Software Tester

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Software Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring that our software products are of the highest quality before they are released to customers. You will work closely with developers and business analysts to understand requirements and conduct testing to ensure the software meets specified requirements.

The role requires an understanding of both manual and automated testing practices, attention to detail, and the ability to identify defects efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Testing & Quality Assurance - Design, develop, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test plans based on project requirements. Perform manual testing across web, mobile, or desktop applications to identify defects. Write and execute automated test scripts (if applicable) for regression, performance, or load testing. Conduct functional testing, usability testing, regression testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Ensure the software meets all functional, performance, and security requirements.

• Collaboration & Process Improvement - Work with development teams to understand feature requirements and technical specifications. Report and track defects in defect-tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Trello, or Bugzilla). Re-test fixed bugs and issues to confirm they are resolved. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the overall quality of products.
• Documentation & Reporting - Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, cases, and results. Provide regular status updates to the project manager and team on test progress and any major issues. Log defects and issues, assign severity, and provide clear and concise steps to reproduce the problem. Help generate quality metrics and reports to evaluate the effectiveness of testing and provide insights for continuous improvement.
• Automation (if applicable) - Implement and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, Test Complete, etc.Work with the automation team to define automation strategies and frameworks.Ensure automated tests run on continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for ongoing test execution.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in manual testing (web, mobile, or desktop applications).
• Familiarity with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Test Complete) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• Proficient in writing test cases, bug reports, and test documentation.
• Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Trello, TestRail, Bugzilla, etc.
• Familiarity with SQL to validate data integrity and perform backend testing.
• Experience with API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
• Solid understanding of functional and non-functional testing types (performance, load, security, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, Robot Framework).
• Exposure to performance testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Experience with mobile testing (iOS and Android).
• Knowledge of DevOps and collaboration tools like Git, Slack, Confluence.
