Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Perform dimensional checks, hardness testing, surface finish inspections, and other mechanical quality tests.
  • Review engineering drawings, material certificates, and process documentation to verify compliance.
  • Identify defects or non-conformities and report them to production for corrective action.
  • Prepare inspection reports, quality records, and maintain proper documentation.
  • Coordinate with production, design, and procurement teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Implement and monitor quality control plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and checklists.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001) and customer requirements.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical components, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.
  • Understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes (machining, welding, fabrication, casting, etc.).
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of quality standards (ISO, ASME, ASTM, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and non-destructive testing (NDT).
