SCHOOL TRANSPORT DRIVER

Location: S.M. Matric Higher Secondary School, Mylaudy, Kanyakumari

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹10,000 + ₹100 Bata per day

Eligibility: Recently retired transport drivers encouraged to apply

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking safe, responsible, and experienced drivers to operate school buses/vans for student transportation. The driver will ensure punctual trips, vehicle maintenance, and adherence to all safety regulations. The role requires a high sense of responsibility due to direct interaction with children.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Transportation Duties

  • Safely transport students to and from school and designated routes.
  • Ensure timely pickups and drop-offs in accordance with the school schedule.
  • Assist young students in boarding and alighting safely.

Vehicle Safety & Maintenance

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Report any mechanical issues promptly and ensure timely servicing.
  • Keep the vehicle clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.

Compliance & Conduct

  • Follow all traffic rules, road safety guidelines, and school transport policies.
  • Maintain accurate logs of routes, fuel consumption, and vehicle issues.
  • Ensure discipline inside the vehicle and maintain a child-friendly demeanour.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in transport driving (school driving experience preferred).
  • Clean driving record with knowledge of local routes.
  • Ability to communicate politely with students, parents and staff.

  • Calm under pressure and committed to student safety.
  • Retired professional drivers are highly encouraged.
