Operation Theatre Technician

The Operation Theatre Technician assists in preparing and maintaining the operation theatre and equipment, ensuring aseptic conditions, and supporting surgical teams during procedures. The technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of surgeries and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and operating rooms before surgery.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
• Check and maintain OT equipment, lights, suction, anesthesia machines, and sterilizers.
• Help in positioning and shifting patients before and after surgery.
• Manage the surgical instruments inventory and ensure proper sterilization after each use.
• Dispose of bio-medical waste safely according to hospital policies.
• Record details of each surgical procedure and maintain OT logbooks.
• Ensure availability of necessary items (gauze, sutures, drapes, etc.) before surgery.
• Assist the anesthetist during induction and recovery of patients.
• Participate in emergency surgeries and be available on-call if required.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization methods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly.

Experience:

• Fresher: Can assist under supervision.
• Experienced: 1–3+ years in a reputed hospital or surgical center preferred.

Preferred Languages for OT Technician:

• English – For understanding medical terminology, operation notes, and communication with doctors.
• Tamil (or the local regional language) – For communicating clearly with patients, attendants, and support staff.

Pay: ₹12, ₹14,000.00 per month
