​We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all phases of carpentry, capable of interpreting blueprints, and dedicated to delivering high-quality workmanship while adhering to strict safety standards. This role involves both rough and finish carpentry on various projects.

​Key Responsibilities

  • ​Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
  • ​Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials, including wood, plywood, drywall, and other construction materials, using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
  • ​Construct, install, and repair building frameworks and structures, such as walls, floors, doorframes, staircases, and roof systems (Rough Carpentry).
  • ​Install finished elements like doors, windows, cabinets, shelving, baseboards, crown molding, and hardware (Finish Carpentry).
  • ​Erect, level, and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, and temporary structures as needed.
  • ​Inspect and replace damaged framework, structures, or fixtures.
  • ​Estimate material and labor costs for projects.
  • ​Collaborate effectively with the construction manager, other tradespeople (e.g., electricians, plumbers), and team members.
  • ​Ensure all work is compliant with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • ​Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, and properly maintain tools and equipment.

​Qualifications and Skills

​Required:

  • ​Proven experience as a Carpenter (e.g., [3-5] years experience, or a completed apprenticeship).
  • ​In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • ​Proficiency in using a variety of electrical and manual tools and equipment (saws, drills, levels, squares, etc.).
  • ​Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • ​Strong mathematical and spatial reasoning skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
  • ​Excellent manual dexterity, physical strength, and stamina to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, bending, climbing).
  • ​Strong commitment to job site safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
  • ​Reliable, detail-oriented, and a good problem-solver.
  • ​Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

​Preferred (Optional):

  • ​Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program or equivalent formal training.
  • ​Specialized experience in [e.g., finish carpentry, commercial framing, custom cabinetry].
  • ​Relevant safety certifications [e.g., OSHA 10/30-Hour Construction Safety Certification].
  • ​Ability to instruct and direct laborers or construction helpers.
