Cashier Job Description

Position Summary:

A Cashier is responsible for processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers as they enter and exit the store
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Issue receipts, or exchanges when authorised
  • Maintain accurate cash drawer; count and reconcile at beginning and end of shifts
  • Assist customers with inquiries and resolve issues professionally
  • Keep checkout areas clean, organised, and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Follow all store policies and procedures regarding cash handling and security
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15, ₹20,000.00 per month
