Senior Facade Designer

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Design Development

• Develop initial design ideas for building facades that align with architectural intent, project requirements, and aesthetic goals.
• Create detailed drawings, 3D models, and specifications for facade systems, including cladding, glazing, shading, and structural elements.
• Collaborate with architects and clients to refine and finalize designs.

2. Technical Detailing

• Prepare technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications for facade systems.
• Collaborate with structural engineers to ensure the facade design meets structural requirements, including load bearing and wind-resistance criteria.
• Develop structural and connection details for facade components.
• Design and specify anchorages, brackets, and other structural connections.
• Design for weatherproofing, thermal insulation, and acoustic performance.

3. Material and System Selection

• Identify suitable materials and systems based on design intent, budget, and performance criteria.
• Ensure the selected materials meet sustainability and durability requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure availability and compatibility.

4. Compliance and Standards

• Ensure facade designs comply with building codes, fire safety standards, and local regulations.
• Address energy efficiency requirements, including thermal performance and daylight optimization.

5. Collaboration and Coordination

• Work closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and project managers to integrate the facade seamlessly into the overall building design.
• Liaise with material suppliers and manufacturers to ensure product specifications align with design requirements.
• Present design concepts and proposals to clients and stakeholders, addressing feedback and incorporating revisions as necessary
