Job Description

We are looking for a Database Engineer with strong expertise in database development, administration, security, backup, and recovery. The role involves designing and maintaining high-performing databases, ensuring data security and availability, and supporting application teams with optimized database solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in database performance tuning, backup strategies, and troubleshooting production issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Perform database administration, including user management, roles, and access control.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and auditing.
  • Handle backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor and improve database performance and query optimization.
  • Create and maintain stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers.
  • Support schema changes, migrations, and deployments.
  • Collaborate with developers and system teams to ensure efficient database operations.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server).
  • Experience in Database Development (queries, stored procedures, functions).
  • Expertise in Database Administration (installation, configuration, monitoring).
  • Knowledge of Database Security, User Roles, and Access Controls.
  • Hands-on experience with Backup, Restore, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Query optimization and performance tuning skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scripting (Shell/Python/PowerShell) for automation.
