Senior Electrical Designer

Job DescriptionJob Overview:The Senior Electrical Designer completes a variety of Electrical Design assignments as needed and can complete work with a limited degree of supervision. They are an informal resource for colleagues with less Electrical Design experience. They developed proficiency in a range of analytical processes or procedures to carry out assigned tasks. They provide solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures. The Senior Electrical Designer directly impacts the quality of the work of the team.ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Apply thorough working knowledge to prepare and oversee the development of key project deliverables, including (but not limited to) the following:Block DiagramsArea Classification DrawingsOne-line diagramsTypical Installation DrawingsMotor control schematicsPanel SchedulesMCT SchedulesLighting Layout DrawingsCable tray drawingsEarthing layoutsBuilding LayoutsMCT LayoutsTray support location PlansCable tray sizing calculationsConduit & cable schedulesAG/UG power drawingsInterconnection & Wiring drawingsPrepare bills of material and perform MTO of electrical itemsWork in 3D modeling tool to perform the following:Model Cable traysModel Electrical EquipmentModel Electrical field devicesModel Cable tray supports / Supports for field devicesModel PenetrationsModel Cable trenchesExtract DrawingsExtract MTOClear Clashes / TDLSupport Project Development and Coordination, including (but not limited to) the following:Maintain and promote a focus on McDermott's end-product throughout engineering, fabrication, or constructionFunction as electrical design project lead or electrical task lead if requiredBecome familiar with the project contract, scope of work, basis of design, specifications, and scheduleReport to and coordinate with the electrical design lead or lead engineer for assigned tasksAssist electrical designers and coordinate with electrical engineers and design lead on assigned tasksMaintain close coordination with other discipline designers and engineersCarefully evaluate, communicate, and manage change with full awareness of project impactAssume responsibility for schedule, quantity, and quality of assigned task deliverablesProvide support for vendor packages, including (but not limited to) the following:Create and issue required MTO for vendor package interfacesCreate all design drawings to allow the interface to vendor packages with the remainder of the facility including I&CSPerform design review of supplier documents for electrical and non-electrical packagesProvide support for the Inspection and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of electrical equipment, motors, and associated skidsConstruction Site Support Experience, including (but not limited to) the following:Provide off-site and/or on-site technical design support to Construction personnelManage site design technical issues and coordinate with office personnel to resolve as neededProvide detailed technical support and coordination for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of electrical equipmentProvide technical assistance for pre-commissioning, energization, commissioning, and start-up, as required byQualificationsEssential Qualifications and Education:Diploma in Electrical and Electronics EngineeringMinimum of 12 years of detailed electrical design experienceExperience using AutoCAD/Microstation/Smartsketch, SP3D/E3D/PDMS is mustPossess detailed knowledge of the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and ANSITechnical knowledge of the detailed design process and sequencesAbility to lead tasks with minimal direction and supervisionAbility to check 3D model and deliverables prepared by other designersExperience with MS Office Suite including Excel and WordPreferred Qualifications and Education:Prefer experience on large-cap (>$500 million) EPC projectPrefer construction site experienceExperience with Dialux / Chalmlite for lighting calculation and Roxtec Tool for MCT sizing is preferredAbout UsLutech Resources has over 25 years' experience providing tailor made recruitment and integrated resource management to leading Engineering, Energy and Manufacturing sector companies worldwide.
