Job Summary:

Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and reliability of mechanical equipment and systems in the manufacturing plant. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and improve equipment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

For Freshers:

  • Assist in daily inspection, maintenance, and repair of plant machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Support senior engineers in performing preventive maintenance as per schedule.
  • Learn and follow safety standards and maintenance protocols.
  • Maintain maintenance records and logbooks.
  • Observe and understand machine operations to identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Assist in spare parts management and inventory tracking.

For 1–3 Years Experience:

  • Carry out routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance for mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and ensure timely resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance and suggest process or design improvements.
  • Coordinate with production and electrical teams for equipment-related issues.
  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities (checklists, reports, logs).
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of new machines or modifications.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of tools, instruments, and mechanical maintenance practices.
  • Basic understanding of preventive maintenance (PM) and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Knowledge of 5S, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Lean Manufacturing concepts (added advantage).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and under industrial conditions.

Educational Qualification:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.

Reporting To:

  • Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Manager

Employment Type:

  • Experience of mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing company or required (fresher or 1-3 years of experience ) with basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance. He should have good communication skills. ( Candidate should be ready to work in three rotational shifts. )
