Backend Developer – Job Description

Position: Backend Developer

Department: Engineering / Technology

Location: Pune

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining server-side logic, databases, APIs, and system architecture to ensure high performance and responsiveness to front-end requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain backend systems, services, and APIs.
  • Build scalable and secure RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Design and optimize database schemas and queries.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services.
  • Ensure application security, data protection, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, DevOps, QA, and product teams.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, , Java, Go, or .NET (customize as per your need).
  • Hands-on experience with databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
  • Experience in building and consuming REST APIs / GraphQL APIs.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of version control (Git).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes is an added advantage.
  • Understanding of security practices (authentication, authorization, JWT, OAuth, etc.).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with caching systems (Redis, Memcached).
  • Exposure to Agile development methodologies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹300, ₹800,000.00 per year
