What You'll Do :

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a critical part of our core engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly available and high-performance services that power our product.

You will lead technical design discussions, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices across the team.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design & Development : Architect and implement scalable, robust, and secure microservices using Java and the Spring Boot framework.

- System Ownership : Take end-to-end ownership of critical system components, from design and development to deployment and monitoring in a Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) environment.

- Performance & Scale : Optimize application performance, latency, and scalability to handle massive transaction volumes and high traffic.

- Code Quality : Drive code reviews, establish coding standards, and implement comprehensive unit and integration testing to ensure code quality and maintainability.

- Collaboration : Work closely with Product Managers, DevOps, and Frontend Engineers to define API contracts, integrate features, and deliver a seamless end-to-end product.

- Mentorship : Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, contributing to the team's technical growth and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.

- Troubleshooting : Debug and resolve production issues across various services and levels of the stack.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable) :

years of professional experience in Backend Software Development.

- Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring/Spring Boot ecosystem.

- Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and Microservices.

- In-depth knowledge of SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) databases and advanced database concepts.

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (deployment, scaling, and using core services).

- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.

- Experience with version control systems, primarily Git.

Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Points) :

- Experience with message queues/streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.

- Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment or building high-traffic consumer applications.

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is a plus
