Key responsibilities include setting up shots, framing and moving cameras, troubleshooting technical issues, and sometimes editing footage to create a cohesive narrative.

  • Camera Operation: Expertly operate a variety of camera equipment, lenses, and accessories to capture high-quality footage.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with directors, producers, and other crew members to translate the script and director's vision into compelling cinematography.
  • Lighting & Composition: Use natural and artificial light to create a specific mood and atmosphere, while also carefully composing shots with appropriate angles, framing, and movement.
  • Equipment Management: Assemble, set up, and maintain all camera and lighting equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
  • Technical Execution: Prepare cameras for shoots, select and install lenses and filters, and adjust settings for desired effects and exposure.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any technical or practical issues that arise on set.
  • Storytelling: Contribute creative input and practical suggestions for scene planning to achieve the best visual results.
  • Footage Editing (Sometimes): Select and arrange shots to create a coherent story or compile edited versions of the footage.
